Join the Conbook !

This year, the FBL is preparing a book for the convention: the famous “conbook”, essential object for your survival during the event, with the schedules, the program, the presentation of the activities, nice organizers and many useful things to make you life at least 20% cooler.

You want to contribute? Here’s how it goes!

HOW TO: ILLUSTRATE THE CONBOOK

You are a young beginner artist or an old illustrator confirmed (or in between, or a mix of both… in short: you draw) and you want to embellish, punctuate, complete the conbook with a nice drawing of your paw?

Write today to rimoufurry@gmail.com with the following information:

  • First Name / Last Name*
  • Date of Birth*
  • Your artist name / Furry name
  • A link to an online gallery
  • OR some examples of drawings you have made (JPG, PNG or PDF only)

You have until July 20, 2019 at 23:59 to apply.

We will contact you as soon as possible to tell you what’s next. In any case :

  • Either your application is selected and then we propose a theme of the conbook to illustrate (fursuit dance, video games, restoration). The deadline for rendering your illustration will be August 30th at 11:59 pm.
  • Either the places are already full and we can only thank you for your interest in our proposal. It is possible that all places are filled after a few days, so be fast! 😊

Here are the technical details that will serve you in your task if (and only if) your request receives a favorable response from our team:

  • The illustration must be rendered in uncompressed JPG format or PNG format.
  • This will be an illustration for the inside of the conbook (excluding cover).
  • The conbook is printed in color, take advantage of it to put beautiful colors on your picture!
  • The ideal format is A4-portrait with an extra margin of 3 mm all-around for a full-page illustration (so your drawing will have to cover this area by 3 mm in addition).
  • Digital format with 300 dpi resolution required.
  • A4-portrait format = 21×29.7cm = 2551x3578px (equivalent to 300dpi) including overflow of 3 mm.
  • Your image should be classified at the maximum “forbidden under 12 years” (equivalent to the PG-13 classification in the USA). More details on Wikipédia.
  • This can be a full-page illustration or an illustration called “cut” (PNG format with transparency required in this case).

IMPORTANT: In a concern of time and capacity, we will not be able to clean the files of image which will be considered improper or non-publishable in the state (defect of scanner, rough cuts of the image, too garish colors, etc.). We reserve the right to return your project to you for a graphic cleaning and/or a modification of your image by your own means if it seems necessary to us.

HOW TO: PUBLISH AN ANNOUNCEMENT

You want to communicate on another convention than the FBL? (we love you anyway) It’s possible via the conbook! And it’s free! (even if we’re not against an exchange of good process). This advertising space is limited, so first come first served.

  • First Name / Last Name*
  • Date of Birth*
  • Your artist name / Furry name
  • Name of the event, with a maximum of details about it
  • The date(s) of your event (if you do not have it yet, give us a reasonable approximate date, but we will need it before the final release of our conbook)
  • Links to your site, your Facebook page, your telegram, Discord, etc.
  • OR some pictures of your event (JPG, PNG or PDF only) because we are interested to see what you do!

Hotel Area & Shuttle

For those who don’t know, our new hotel is located near the Charles De Gaulle airport, and it’s super easy to join us from here ! You can reach the Hyatt in multiples ways:

  • Approx. 5 minutes by car (Taxi, Uber,…)
  • Approx. 10 minutes by bus (Bus line 350)
  • Approx. 15 min by free shuttle bus

How the free shuttle bus service is working?

You may take the shuttle from Terminal 2 TGV station level 5, Platform 2 (for minibus), where the hotel shuttle stop is located. The shuttle is an 8 seater minibus, with a large boot. Don’t forget that the length of the trip depends on traffic.

This free service is working from 5am to 11:40pm every 20 minutes, 7 days a week.

What’s around the hotel?

Our new hotel is located near the “Aéroville” shopping center where you’ll be able to find a lot of shops, restaurants and even a cinema!

The shopping center also got a free shuttle bus service with the hotel, working from 10am to 8:30pm.

And inside the hotel?

In addition to the lobby, patio and other common areas of the hotel, here are some of the hotel’s amenities, accessible by attendees who are sleeping at the hotel:

  • The “Apollo Restaurant”
  • The “Cosmos Bar”
  • 24/7 Market with to-go food, drinks and souvenirs
  • A pool / sauna / jacuzzi
  • A fitness center
  • Tennis courts

Registrations open!

The moment has finally arrived, the registration for the FBL # 8 is open! Below, we detail you the procedure of registration for the FBL and to book your room. (-Illustration: (c) Grou-)

Step 1: Creating your account
Create your user account on the registration website. The system will send you a first automatic email containing a link to validate your email address. Once you have confirmed your email address, go to step 2.

Step 2: Registration for the FBL
Fill out the registration form. Fields marked with * are required. The box “early arrival” is only for statistical purpose to allow us to know how many participants would arrive on October 30th. Once your form is completed, it is submitted to a manual validation by the Registration team. You will receive a second automatic email signifying that the validation of your registration is in progress.
This phase can take time depending on the number of simultaneous registrations and the time of day (all our team members are volunteers). Once your registration is validated by the Registration team, editing of almost all the fields will be possible only by contacting the staff using the contact form of the registration site.

Note: this year, the avatars on the badge will be in large format and a special mask tells you which part of the image will be hidden by the graphics of the badge. Be sure to place your avatar so that no important part is hidden by the mask and please respect the minimal dimensions recommended on the form to have a badge of optimal quality.

Step 3: Validation and Badge Number
Once your registration is manually validated by the Registration team, you will receive a third and last automatic email confirming that your registration has been taken into account, giving you your badge number (which will be useful to you several times, take good note of it) and inviting you to pay your registration fee. Go to step 4.

Step 4: Payment
Follow the Paypal link now available on your home page to proceed to the payment of your registration fees, knowing that the total amount is reminded to you next to the link. It takes into account:
– your registration fee for the FBL (50 € before 1st May 2019, 60 € between 1st May and 30th September 2019);
– the Sponsor option, if you checked the box (+ 30 € );
– the possible donation to the association that you would like to make and would have indicated during your registration.

For administrative reasons, dance party fees appear separately on your bill but are included in the basic registration fee at the FBL.

Step 5: Book your room
Once your registration is validated and paid, you will have access to the booking procedure for the room. As in other years, only one person makes the booking for the whole room. It is only possible to book at the discounted rate for the FBL through the link provided on the registration site page by following the instructions detailed therein.
